There is no greater voice than the voice of Music. And with that in mind five friends came together to form a band, that would not just be a voice, but much more.

Purple Blood was born not to fight, not to preach, but to shout out what the common men feel. The band explores the human mind, fallacies within, the dark corners, the longing desires, the pent of frustration, the dreams, the pain. Their influences range from the classic rock bands to death metal bands.

They are a five piece metalcore/progressive metal band with members from different walks of life. All of them are divided in thoughts but united in music. With exams and lectures to tackle, they say their belief in music and "arrears" keeps them going. :D

The band recently released their debut single – Darkness falls – which was widely appreciated. Their Major achievement was when they won the best band tag at Ragam 09, the most popular college fest in kerala hosted by NIT by beating 17 bands which gave them confidence and this was followed by an Opening Act for the malayalam alternative rock band AVIAL for Nirvaan 09, Recently the band performed at the Kyra Theater for the prelims of Mood Indigo ,a Headlining Act at Nimantra 09 @ SCT college of Engineering Trivandrum and Headlining Act at JRO LaunchPad 09, Unwind Center, Chennai

PURPLE BLOOD is a five piece metalcore/progressive band with Ashwin on Vocals, Arvind and Babu Vivek on the guitars, Prashant on bass and Ganesh on Drums.
